The initiative was developed by the International Fur Trade Federation (IFTF) in collaboration with four leading international fur auction houses:

• American Legend Cooperative
• Saga Furs
• Kopenhagen Fur
• North American Fur Auctions

Just recently another auction house, Fur Harvesters Auction, joined the programme.

The programme is administered by the IFTF. Independent monitoring is a key feature of the programme. This is provided by Cotecna, an international monitoring organisation.

The fur trade actively supports the programme with the number of OA™ retailers, wholesalers and manufacturers growing continuously.
